Campus Resources
College campuses today offer multiple mental health resources. The availability and responsiveness of these resources, and coordination between them, vary widely.
Look up and store relevant numbers for faster access during crises.
University Police Department
This department may respond if you call 911 from a phone on campus, or you may call the campus police non-emergency number. They may also complete wellness checks.
Counseling and Psychological Services
Most schools provide free short-term mental health care for enrolled students, but this service is often overwhelmed and may not be the best for ongoing, regular appointments.
University Health Services
Medical treatment for psychiatric illnesses, addiction, and recovery. Some campus health services have restrictions on prescribing controlled substances.
Dean of Students Office
The Dean of Students Office may help students navigate university policy and procedures around academic concerns.
Disability Services
Staff help students with diagnosed medical and mental health conditions obtain learning accommodations.
Blue Light Phones
Some campuses have emergency phones positioned around campus to use if an urgent safety concern arises.
Other services that may be present on the college campus include a Crisis Response Team, Crisis Text Line, a University hospital, and more. Research these numbers now.
